Here Comes the Sun: St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse Review

Two words: simply genius.  I have tried many tanning products and will review several more as we head into the summer, this one however, will be tough to beat.  St. Tropez is the Mercedes Benz of the self tanning world.  Found in stores like Sephora or higher end department stores, this bottle of liquid bronze is a bit pricier than its drugstore counter parts, but well worth it.  What really makes this product work is the application mit. Sold in kits or separately, it is what makes application flawless.  The mousse is light and foamy and slightly tinted so you can see where you are rubbing it St Tropezin.  The mit allows for perfect coverage of feet and hands – which is always the trickiest part.

Simply pump on to the mit and start gently covering your body.  The directions recommend going top to bottom.  Once applied, it dries in 60 seconds – literally dry.  Not dry but sticky or dry but greasy – this is dry.   There is NO scent.  This uses an innovative Aromaguard™ technology to keep that tell-tale self-tan aroma to a minimum. The BEST part, the bronze color is more brown than golden or orangish.  I am always paranoid with tanners that the color is just not quite right.  This one is perfect, it is truly the perfect shade of tan.

They claim no streaking so I put this to the test.  I had my husband apply the tanner to my back.  Needless to say his application technique left a lot to be desired, at one point I felt like a car getting a coat of wax.  Terrified that I would have swirl marks on by back, I was stunned that once rinsed off the next day, the tan was flawless.  I can’t say enough good things about this product, it is now my go to self tanner!  Seems like I will be “living in” St. Tropez this summer.

Added bonus: this product does not contain parabens, sulfates, phthalates or triclosan, so you can feel good about using it!
